A building destined to become the newest landmark on the Clayton skyline is off to a remarkable start with word that 54 condominiums worth $45 million were reserved in the first five days of pre-sales at Maryland Walk, 8025 Maryland Ave. Conrad Properties Corp. is developing the 17-story, 100-unit residential high-rise that will mark the introduction of the "vertical neighborhood" residential concept in metro St. Louis.
"We are immensely gratified with the response," said Bob Saur, Conrad chairman. "We are also deeply honored that so many St. Louisans have committed to team with us over the next two to three years as we make Maryland Walk a reality." "Given the continuing vitality of the Clayton housing market and the fact that we are offering approachably priced homes in an elevator building at a premium location, we were optimistic about getting off to a good start," Saur continued. "However, never did we imagine that more than 50 units would be spoken for in less than a week of pre-sales."
Three styles of condominiums are offered at Maryland Walk. They are open-plan "Boulevard Homes" with 1,350 to 2,400 square feet, priced from $439,000; classic "Parkway Residence" condominiums with 1,872 to 3,330 square feet, priced from $659,000; and "Avenue Penthouses"- 3,300- to 4,400-square-foot completely custom "city estates in the sky" that are priced upon request.
The Maryland Walk sales center, which includes a furnished "Boulevard" model and an interactive DVD presentation of the building, is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays 10 to 5 p.m.; and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. The center is located at 8025 Maryland Ave.
